About David Mullin
I began my photography journey in 1999, using the medium as a creative outlet for sixteen years. In 2015, as my mother began showing signs of dementia, I found myself grappling with anxiety and panic attacks. Sleepless nights and racing thoughts were tied to the emotional strain of my mother's condition. While there was no quick fix, meditation, exercise, and, ultimately photography, provided me with the peace I so desperately sought.
Before this shift, I had followed popular trends, capturing sunrises, sunsets, and expansive landscapes. But as my personal life became more turbulent, I found solace in photographing what resonated most with me. Instead of chasing others’ visions, I focused on capturing grace—an elusive quality I believe to be as powerful as love itself. In the chaos of life, I sought to slow down, offering a quieter, more reflective view of the world.
Currently, my photography now spans both urban street scenes and nature, blending the raw energy of the city with the peaceful stillness of landscapes. My work continues to evolve as I explore the balance between the frenetic and the serene, always striving to capture the moments that matter most.
